No offence

Anytime someone says "No offence" what they are really saying is "Im getting ready to offend you".

I agree with some of what you are saying but don't you wish others get the same deal you had (if only a 3 day window). Or do you take the "You snooze, you lose" approach ? (In other words "It stinks to be you").

The DAW market is pretty competitive.  Those "one time only" seems to appear more than once.  Just wait.

I do not know many people that take 6 months to move to a new house though.  Not that it matters but are you suggesting you were unaware of the deal for 6 months, or that you knew about the deal but could not afford it because of the move?

I've been a sonar user from 2007 and upgraded every time from sonar 7 to Platinum,
But due to the house move, other commitments and a loss in interest in creating music, did very little with Sonar in 2016/2107, and yes I did receive the offer from Cakewalk about lifetime updates, but unfortunately Sonar was low on my priority list at that time.
I am now enjoying using Sonar again, and I was simply enquiring whether another lifetime offer was a possibility

It was a leap of faith decision to invest in Cakewalk and spring for lifetime updates.

it probably cost you the same as a normal update....sheesh!!

Yes I thought it was a deal at the time. Cake advertised it as a way to thank their loyal customers, which I certainly have been. As I mentioned, a LOT of others, for their own reasons, decided it wasn't such a great deal. Some are now coming back and asking for lifetime updates. Hindsight is always 20:20.

Anytime someone says "Anytime someone says" - what they really are saying is that they intend to read more into a post than what was really said.
I just made an observation around the circumstances surrounding the initial offer. Whether or not I want someone else to have lifetime updates is completely irrelevant - Cakewalk will offer it or they won't. If they don't, and stick to their initial suggestion that it was a one time only deal - there will inevitably be those who feel slighted by that too.

People which have no "lifetime" and want it now probably have not payed for 2015+2016 upgrades (with such condition the offer really was "no-brainer", lasting till the end of the year, it was less than one year update). Nor they are currently members (why to ask for an offer if you already have everything?). Most "lifetimer" have paid for 2015+2016+upgrade. So, they have paid for 2016. And they have payed extra for 2017+ in 2016. I mean lifetime is practically not yet a win financially, it will be next year (if everything goes as it goes).

Yes, when you know one year is $250 (while strictly speaking that is not true) and before it was <=$150, 2x$150+extra for lifetime does not look bad... but the train is already gone.

Not everyone is like us (attached to their DAW every day, every week).
There are those who come and go and sometimes illness, situations in life take place.
Im only wishing well on other users what was given to me (Lifetime updates).

I understand everyone thinks/feels differently about it. Im not saying they should open the door on lifetime updates for another month, im just saying it would be nice if (for the people who might have been sick, had problems with living arrangements, that it would be nice to see it again for a few days.

I'll say it again... Doesn't everyone deserve what we were offered ?
Or is it "You missed the bus too bad for you" ?

(IMO) Cake are the drivers of their own bus - what they can do for the good of their business is up to them
Chuck - No offence (JK) - But as long as you're waiving your magic wand - I want staff view fixed.

The offer was for everyone, and it was not "given to you", you have paid for that. The advantage of lifetime for those who have it starts NEXT year.
