I'm getting excited for 2018. Finally "something" will pay off for me in this (most expensive) hobby.

Just an opportunity. This guy, the OP has upgraded since sonar 7 and he now has platinum. I ( personally) wish he had that opportunity. Because I know I'm grateful I did.
If only 3 days. May I ask , does that bother you?

It seemed to me at the time the lifetime deal was offered it was also a kind of 'consolation' for long term windows using customers when Cakewalk was heading down the Mac path. I think there was method in the madness of announcing them together.

It is not that I want keep my "exclusivity". In fact I wish "lifetime" for yet another person.
My points was different: (1) CW can not answer on that question in advance (2) in case they decide to offer lifetime again, it probably going to be not "cheap" (3) I do not think "3 days" approach is good for CW marketing.
 
In my case "a gift" approach can work, I mean the same as they had at the end of last year. Who knows, may be CW can do this again.
