  • how to roll back z3ta+2 from 2.2 to 2.1 (PC version) + a couple more questions

hello cakewalk, z3ta+2 user here with some questions! i even bullet-pointed them!
  • what's the procedure to roll back from z3ta+2 2.2 (the new release) to 2.1 on a PC is there any difference with that procedure if z2 is bought/installed/updated via steam, versus via the cakewalk store?
  • when will the 2,2 update get pushed out via steam?
  • in steam, version 2.2 update is currently listed as DLC (and "added 24/02/2015") rather than as an update to the app - do you have any insight into this? (it seems wrong, or at least doesn't seem to make sense - or unless the z2 VSt is considered a DLC for the stand alone host?)
  • will the new/updated steam version require installing the command centre app?
thanks in advance for your answers!

I have no info on the steam side of things, but to rollback after installing 2.2 via the CC I'm sure I simply ran the uninstaller (from the start menu) and reran the 2.1 installer I had saved from its original download.

I am using the standard file locations for patches, so the expansion packs I have showed up automatically.

To "roll back" you need to uninstall completely and then install the version you choose. I don't see any rollback yet (probably next patch).

I can half answer the next question... when will get rolled out via steam? And that will be after they fix the preset bug (and perhaps a few others?).

I suggest you sit tight, relax and see what happens and allow cakewalk the time to fix the current patch. When the patch is made available you will get most of your answers. Allow cake the time to get on with rolling this out correctly. Right now you are in a far better position than those who got it via CCC. You don't have to waste time testing.

We will be pushing the update out when it's ready. There's a separate blocker issue, which is not related to any of the other reported issues in the field, holding it up.

We'll likely see the release this week. There's some STEAM side switching that needs to happen in tandem with the update, which only Valve Reps can handle.

Yes, this is correct. Due to the changes in authorization we need to deliver new CD Keys to customers. This is accomplished through using a new DLC to deliver them.

We use DLC for point releases all the time on STEAM. This is how we provide monthly updates to SONAR.

As with all STEAM delivered products Command Center is not required, utilized, or installed.

STEAM rollback will be available via a "Legacy2.1" beta branch.
