have you installed the drivers for your Behringer Audio interface ?

Yes, I did but I had to install the 2.23.0 version because the installer for the 3.29.0 version hung. I found a thread where the user had the same issue and remarked that installing the 2.23.0 version worked for them.

Well, my machine is 6 years old and running networking, antivirus, and all the standard background stuff, I can record video live running 20 tracks of Maschine 2 projects.
...
Without recording video and using ASIO I can get 25 tracks with no dropouts.

Bet you are not running default Aud.ini. Maybe a little tweak to the I/O buffers and dropoutmsec.

It's not the default settings at all.

I bring this up because I'm thinking my machine is too old. I'm looking for a newer model soon when it becomes clear how AMD and Intel wars gets settled.

Bet you will still have to tweak Aud.ini.

What's the problem with that? Everyone has different systems. One size does not fit all.

I don't use Maschine, I just use that project as a burn-in test when I make changes or get a new video driver, etc.

My own Reaktor ensembles use far more resources.

It is not a problem. On the contrary, I suspect it is necessary to tailor the file to your system and wonder if those experiencing drop out problems have tried tweaking the file.

Agreed.

By the way, I just bought Camtasia to produce some Youtube videos on 'extreme' Reaktor projects.
Reaktor is single-core, so to get more oomph one needs to split into tracks.
I plan to demonstrate how-to's for Sonar, Live and Reaper. It is very interesting to see how these DAWs handle track splitting into multiple CPU cores, the impact of hyperthreading, etc.
Camtasia, unfortunately does not support ASIO, otherwise it is a fine product.
I hope to have something ready in the next few weeks.
Look for it here:

Scook- Any resources you would suggest for delving into typical aud.ini tweaks?
