I probably should know this, but for the life of me I can't remember.

How can I shorten a midi file? If I load the file in P5 and erase the last half of all the notes, and then save the file, it plays in Windows media player as the whole midi file, but without and sound in the second half.

I want to eliminate the empty portion.

I am saving the pattern as midi.

From my recollection, there is a yellow triangle at the top right of the pattern editor, which you can drag to shorten the length of that clip...

I've tried that and it still loads the entire midi file in Windows Media Player, but with the last half of the file blank.

OK I found the answer .................... I didn't do it in P5 but in Sonar. It's just a simply matter of split and save.
