I was given a brand new HP G62-407DX Notebook PC. Windows 7.  My GTP3 installed fine. But No VST folder and Guitar Rig 4 won't show up. I can play old bundle files too. I would like to see if I could get it to work!!

I would not see why it couldn't, I am running GTP4, and Sonar 8.5 PEx64, all on same laptop(HP). There  was a discussion about Guitar Rig on the Sonar forum, I think you have to run it in stand-alone first, and then Native puts  their dlls separate from Cake plugs. Is it the guitar rig VST folder, or the GTP3 not showing up? Might just have to point plugin manager to Natives folder, where the dll is. If other way around, not sure, reinstall, and see if it will show up. Good luck!

Ace,

Long time no hear bud. Look for the files under Program Files (x86) > Cakewalk > GTP3 > VST files if I remember correctly. You might hit up Strummy as he might be more on pointe with actual file location for GTP3. But that should be...I think where you will find the files.

Yeah I found where the GR VST folder is in it's own folder. The GTP3 VST plug in folder is where it should be too. I ran the VST adatper it had a Y by GR4-BUT when I open GTP3 in the effects list there is a CW folder but not a VST folder?? This whole Win7 32 bit 64 bit x86 thing has got me!!! This lappy shares mic/line input-I FINALLY got it to where the guitar would come through the speakers dry.  The driver choice was another mystery I wasn't sure which one to pick. There was a I/O and two more. I can't use my M-Audio Fast Track on this either!! Tried to run it stand alone with ASIO driver-it sounds bland.

Hey Doc,
The SpectraFX and Tuner are all that show up in the CW drop down folder no matter how many times I run the VST adapter. It says it see's GR but no joy. Thanks Brother I'll give it a shot!! I might have to hitt Strummy up for a visit!! I hope they have Mt. dew across the pond!!?? The upside-putting finishing touches on the penny wrappers Upgrading to GTP4 in a week!!

My GTR3 is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 3, GTR4 Pro is in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 4. I think you have to scan from the Native folders first, then they will show up in the Cakewalk folders afterwords. I am not sure if thats what you're doing, if it is, sorry just trying to help. I know I had to go to the plugin manager and add the Native folders separate to scan before they would show up. Good luck!
