Hi I got the LE program like 4-5 years ago at target. Anyways. At first it's was my first recording program, so I was having big problems understanding it. I changed some stuff but I don't even know it, so it may caused problems in the future, which is now. So I finally recorded my guitar track and make it record through the USB to guitar cable, earlier I could only record from my PC mic. So I recorded the track and play it back to me, I notice the sound was weird, sounds like the old tape recorder ran out of battery. They turn slower and the sound got distorted . Did I do something wrong? Plus when I open the program it shows a window says I'm missing a plug-in. It's called Cakewalk synth plug(plug-in)
Please help, I'm eager to start recoding without problems !

Asking any technical questions it is important to include your system specs in the post. Otherwise it's really hard
to start guessing answers. Put them in your signature like most here have done.
 
The first step towards problem free DAW-hobbying would be getting yourself a decent audio interface that supports ASIO driver. The integrated soundchips usually don't cut the cake. You can get quite usable ones for around 100-150$.
Trying to get something done with the mobo chip, that I assume you're using, check in the Options (or maybe it's called Preferences in MC5) what driver is selected. Mobo chips usually use MME driver as default, which is the poorest there is. If there is the option to use WDM, try that. If that doesn't work, download and install the free ASIO4ALL driver (which is not real ASIO). That has helped many.
Changes in the speed of recording are usually caused by sample rate mismatch. I don't know anything about those guitar-to-USB-chords, but I assume it's made for 44,1 kHz sample rate. Check that your project is set to the same.

^^^^ good advice. The USB guitar things are notoriously bad choices for recording guitar. IN my years here, less then half the people who buy them are able to get them to work reliably.
 
The USB musical interfaces running ASIO drivers are the best route. Don't settle for MME or audio codecs as drivers..... or ASIO4ALL if you can afford to get a decent interface.
 
BTW: which LE version are you running? 4 to 5 years ago is fairly old stuff..... I assume it's still on the computer from 4 to 5 years ago as well? What is that computer and it's OS?

I believe its music creator 5 LE. 

everything about this music creator is new to me, there are so many bottoms to press and so many tips I need to learn and so many things I changed but not remember if I change anything. when I use something new I don't remember the first time experience .  I feel like just get the music creator 6 then. cause I don't remember what I did to my old le program. plus its le, a full version is better. and I get a guitar record interface. a lot of people says the use to guitar cable is a bad choice.  thank u for the help

As a registered user of MC 5, even though you seldom used it, you can upgrade to SONAR X3 for only $49 (download), about the same as MC 6. , But, You must have Windows 7 or 8 as an operating system to use X3.

Pay attention to what Greg said.... the upgrade is a cool option IF the OS is compatible. If not, get MC6. Depending on the OS on that older computer, be sure to check that it is compatible. Most computers are OK since I run MC5 on a laptop with the Vista operating system and it runs just fine as does MC6.
 
The LE versions always have things turned off since they are "limited edition" versions designed to give you a taste of what the full version can do. Buying MC6 would be a step or two up from the 5LE version. PLus I think you get some cool stuff that they added to 6.

im thinking what the hack right, mc6 wont cost me over $50. I don't have a band yet. I play the guitar. so anyways even I don't have a bass and drums, there is a digital bass and drums set I can use it right. so this will be like one man band
