Soens - Got it.  The key was the "Start/Stop".  Found it.

So that is it - ctrl Num minus for Rewind and ctrl Num plus for fast forward.

Don't know how I didn't see it.  That said, on the Contour Shuttle, it still doesn't work - Stupid Shuttle.  It works, but it doesn't know to "release" the button, so it starts the rewind, but then rewinds until I turn the shuttle the other direction and then it FF endlessly in that direction.  And vice-versa.  So irritated that this thing just doesn't work in a usable way  (or predictable).

Can anyone find a good  "key combo" way aside from my presented CAL script to make it go forward and back by BEAT.  I have measure, which I've gotten used to, but beat would be optimal.

The only "trouble" I have with RTZ (W) is I can't define where Zero is.
In the "good old days" we could reset the counter for each song on the master and viola!
return to the beginning of the song currently being worked on.
I start every song at measure 11.
Leaves room for the count in, any midi stuff needed, etc.
Many have lobbied for "negative" measures.
I would just like to define where Z is.
Just my nickel98.

To recap (for me )... the final answer:

(you do not need AutoHotKey)
In Sonar
bind key "Num-" to Rewind (actual list name is "Start/Stop Rewind")
bind key "Num+" to FastForward (actual list name is "Start/Stop Fast Forward")
bind key "Num Enter" to Pause (actual list name is "Play/Pause")

You can keep Space Bar as its default "On Stop Rewind to Now Marker"
And use "Num Enter" to pause (stop here! and don't rewind to Now Marker, damn it! )

Note: Using Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn direct, or as a binding, for rewind/FF was awful because was not instant or smooth like the real rewind/FF.
