  • REX2 loops won't import from the media browser - says parameter incorrect

Hi, I'm trying to import REX2 loops via the media browser and when I try to open a folder it says parameter incorrect, according to the cakewalk help files it should load them.

I can import them via file/import  but there is no autoplay function so it takes ages to audition a loops (you have to select it then choose play).

Strangely sometimes Sonar will open them!

Has anyone got a fix for this?

I've never encountered this problem with REX files. What is their source - are they from libraries, or generated by another program? Also, this probably isn't it but what version of SONAR are you running?

When you say they won't autoplay, is it because you can't select autoplay or even if selected, they don't autoplay?

Double click to audition or drag and drop to use in a track/clip.

Hi. I can't audition the clips from media browser because it says parameter incorrect when clicking on the REX folder - I don't get to the point of opening a folder.

The REX2 loops are from looploft

Hi, thanks for the reply I might have sorted this. I have been using a 3rd party program to extract zip files and it actually wouldn't open one of the looploft zip files. So for that zip files I used the build in windows unzip - and they play in the media browser. So I've just unzipped another one using the windows tool and that works too. I guess the 3rd party program (extract now) is stripping out something.

Luckily I have kept the original zip files so I can do them again

Never heard of extract now... I've used 7-zip for years, and never had any problems with it.  It's free and widely known/used.
