Hi All,
I've got X2 up and running with the ASIO drivers. All is working pretty well.
I'd like to use the session drummers for a few tracks.
So far, I can only hear it on one track and don't know how to use an intro then go to verse type drums.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marsi

Hello Marsi
Are you playing your own drum part or are you dragging the included midi files?  If you're dragging the files them leave yourself a few empty measures, then drag a measure as a count off, then drag as many measures as you need for the intro, then verse, etc.  If you're not familiar with measures and beats let me know and we'll work from there.

I hope this helps you.

The session drummer won't play in the track. I can play it when I double click the icon in the track, but when I start the sequence. All other soft synths are working correctly. I have a new Dell 7000, windows 10 asio4all, alesis v49 controller and X2. Suggestions? Getting frustrated, thanks Marsi

Hi marsi:

Pull the midi track where the Session Drummer midi file is located down (just grab the bottom of it with your mouse) until you can see all the in and out information listed.  There should be five little boxes with a letter on the left and a small arrow on the right.  If you pull the track down and the boxes aren't there just go up to the top of the track pane and click on the "All" drop down box which is to the left of the time ruler and to the right of "Add Track".  MAke sure "All" is selected there.  Then go  back to the small boxes and click the little arrow on the right of the SECOND little box (labeled "O") on your midi track.  Make sure "Session Drums" is selected.  Then go the third box (labeled "C") and make sure you have the midi track number of the Session Drummer Selected.  I think it usually uses track one as a default.

Don't get frustrated!!  Come back here for help.  I promise that somebody will get you sorted out.  Hang tough.

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Got the Session Drummer to load.

Next up is setting up a vocal track to record along with the instrument tracks.
For some reason the Audio track I set up for the mic records the instrument tracks as well.
How do I isolate the mic track to record only the vocal? I'm using headphones so that the mic won't pick up speaker audio. Also, I have the mic input as a usb. Have a  new Dell 7000 series computer.
Thanks so much, little bit by little bit....
Marsi

Hello Marsi,

I'm a bit baffled as to why that would happen.  My guess is it's some type of routing issue and probably very easy to fix, I just don't know how to do it.  What I would suggest you do is start a new thread with that as the subject so that guys who can answer will weigh in specifically on that.

Good luck!
