I've had Cakewalk home studio 9.01 since, well, forever, and I just installed it (apparently successfully) on my Win 10 PC. Is there some Cakewalk product I should consider upgrading to and why? I am not a heavy user, using it mainly to create rudimentary music charts for songs I write. 9.01 seems to work very well, though I wish it had more music notations such as "repeats", "DC", etc. Thanks in advance for any help. I am new to this forum - couldn't find a better place to ask this question.

Hi, and welcome to this forum.
To make sure you have some form of support in Win 10, perhaps get the new SONAR Home Studio?

IIRC it has the same Audio Engine as the Flagship SONAR Platinum.
Hope it helps.
All the best.

I agree, it's got all the improvements that have been made since your version and is only $50.
I bought it even though I have the full lifetime version of Platinum.  I like it a lot and use it for MIDI only projects on a laptop I bring to work and travel with. It's rock solid and I bought a few 3rd party synths and drums from Air cheap so it's got as about as much VST horsepower as Plat now for about $100 extra.
Look at the comparison list and decide which features are important to you, Maybe for $100 Artist will suit you better etc.

Sadly I don't think they have made many improvements to the notation end of things. I have never used this feature myself and I think this is true  of most DAW users. So notation takes back burner to the list of improvements requested by users.
