1. Have you listed ALL these so called bugs issues you've had?
2. Can they be reproduced in steps?
3. Have you did a reformat of your hard drive (before) completely re-installing a fresh copy of X2 and then X2a on your computer ?
When I reformatted my hard drive and then re-installed X2, and then X2a, many bugs disappeared instantly.
Cakewalk released X1a, X1b, X1c, and then X1d for Sonar X1. Four (4) upgrade builds.
But somehow you already volunteered to lose all hope that they gave up on fixing X2 to completion only a few months after they released the X2a update which fixed 250 bugs?

I'm desparate to see a numbered comprehensive list of what's still broken. I think it's 4 bugs?

Look, whatever man. I'm not interested in giving you a bug list. I've reported them in to Cakewalk, with various steps to reproduce, and had various things confirmed and agreed by them as bugs. X2 came out in *September* last year, five months more or less to the day. For three of those months, to me, v700 support sucked really hard. For the last two of those months, it's sucked less, but still doesn't work right. At no point has it been fully functional. If you're happy with that, go on and be happy, I'm not stopping you.

Let's not forget that this is Ryan who started this thread. We just can't say that nobody cares.

Even if the fixes look thrown at us with very little testing, that is still speculation that support will stop. I think it's safe to say that even Sonar need work and is Cake's priority, so no wonder the VS need some fixes too.

The only thing I wish would be that Cakewalk test and release the fixes with every Sonar update.

That being said, thanks to Ryan for his neverending devotion.

But John, if the actual state of the system is slowing or stopping you, nobody can blame you of being upset. No doubt about it...

It's not stopping me. I'm getting on with stuff by more or less not using it. It's essentially a ludicrously over-sized transport control, for my purposes. Other than that, it just sort of sits there on the desk, as a constant grating reminder of how much it cost me.

I hear, feel and agree with all your pain John. Like the knobs still don't even line up with the eq in the PC. I tried to use ACT to set it myself but I couldn't get that to work either and that should be the simplest of things to implement.

You guys need to bypass the little fish and try and get on the line with Roland. I had one of the Cake USB interfaces and there was no support for it at all. Now it's obsolete. I feel genuinely bad for you guys that supported this company only to be left at the curb holding expensive boat anchors.

Cakewalk = Half Baked. Nothing ever seems to get resolved fully. Before they get it right they just release a new version and bugs get carried over.

I feel for all you who own this and invested so much. I wanted one badly during the 8.0 days.  It would seem that the integration into the X series would have had the hardware at or near the top of compatibility goals. Reading through this, I think if I owned one, I would feel like John and others. The unit was over priced from the start, and then... it appears they (roland/cake) are slowly breaking up and abandoning the hardware.

Is it worth going back to version 8...  which was stable than working with X2?
I recenlty purchased the full V-700 system and must admit its a great system....  but works poorly with X2.

V-700 users I think must accept that times change and Roland/Cakewalk are moving on...  and I dont think V-Studio will be along for the ride.  If you check around there are hardly no systems for sale by dealers nor is it being advertised.  Even the V-Studio micro sites and links have gone.

Hmm. Define "accept", is what I suppose I'd say to that. I mean, yeah, I accept that appears to be the reality. But if indeed that is the reality, then Cakewalk simply aren't a company that I can give my business to any more. It's very, very not cool how they've handled this whole thing.
