Once again John T you couldn't say it any better. if this happened on a regualr job ppl would be fired if it wasn't fixed n a certain time period and some serious damage control info would be put out. But what do we get???...

guys, calm down. our digital world has become complicated and highly interlaced - if everybody in a regular job would get fired for not getting difficult issues fixed promptly, we'd be looking at 90% unemployment worldwide.

The thing to be upset about is the total radio silence: problem reports are not followed up, bug reports don't change status, neither cake nor roland comments on any of these things here although they regularly do over in the X2 forum.

Yeah Bertyl you are on the money.... the total ignorance provided is the one major factor influencing our annoyed state. We've been told to talk it up in here and we have more than done that and nada.... I have not heard of one person getting a bug report resolved?

Cake!! Are you awake?? ...is that a song maybe?

Crickets.....

Totally calm here. I'm still getting work done. I'm just stating the reality. I used to work for GM and when they brought out the Azteck ugly ass pc a crap the guy who gave the approval to release it got sacked as it was an utter failure. I don't want to see anyone get fired over this either. When supm was broken with a vehicle a notice was sent out. This is not just for the auto industry. When a company breaks a product many class action have risen out of them for failure to support.

I'd like to distance myself from any talk of people being fired; I've no desire to personalise it in that way.

Ryan Munnis [Cakewalk]

Hi Everyone,

I know you're all anxiously awaiting more information from us. I mentioned previously that I try not to speak out unless I have any official details that I can reveal. The silence from me is a direct result of that. It doesn't mean the topic is being ignored however.

Please keep in mind that all things development related take time. The close to two months from my post above feels like a very short time on our end... and I'm sure an extremely long time on yours. There's quite a lot of projects under the works here at Cakewalk, but as all things we can only really release details when they're ready.

I do want to point out that the Problem Reports will never be closed on anything unless an update is actually available. This goes for anything VS-700 or anything Cakewalk related at all. The way the system works is the user logs a bug, we pull it into our internal system, do what we need to do, and when fixes are available... to customers... we got through and update the reports as "fixed". There is no point telling anyone a fix is available prior to that. I just want to clarify that if you haven't received updates on your Problem Reports, that is perfectly normal and intended, since we haven't released any SONAR X2 or VS-700 updates in the past two months.

There are some details in this that we cannot resolve as quickly as I'm sure some folks would hope. For example, we do not create the drivers for the V-Studio products in house. Windows 8 compatibility is a big focus that we have for future SONAR X2 updates and one that we want to make sure we do properly. How this ties into the VS-700 has to do with driver compatibility as well.

With that being said, this topic as well as control surface support in general is one that we are investigating. As with all things, all I can do is ask for patience (and I know it's asking a lot) until we have some more details that we're ready to release.

Best regards,

Ryan Munnis

sorry ...lol

But

Ryan one simple question : we don't want specially to know what you guyz are doing (about the bug even if it's crucial for us)  , but just want to know also  if the VS 700 is a part of a line or just a one night thing bettween you guyz and Roland !!

This info is really crucial i think because it will give patience and confidence to some ......
