Hello all,

Just upgraded to a new PC running Windows 8.  I'm having problems getting my True Piano and other vst instruments to work correctly.  My old PC ran Sonar X2 and had the UA-4FX Audio interface.  Just the PC and OS has changed.

Using the latest driver from Roland for the UA-4FX and the ASIO Driver mode here are my results.

If I set the audio driver to setting 3 which is 13.6 msec and 600 samples I can click on the truepiano window and hear the piano, but playing the midi keyboard does not 'play' the truepiano.  I can play a file I recorded from the old pc, and it plays fine.

If I set the audio driver to setting 2 which is 12.6 msec and 556 samples, I can click on the truepiano window and play the midi keyboard but there is no sound.  The file I recorded does not play (no sound).  However, the output meters are showing that I should hear sound.

I can't get the midi keyboard to drive the truepiano and get the sound the play.  It's either one or the other.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Check Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording "Prepare using nnn Millisecond Buffers" the default of 250 is too low for many, try 500 or 750.

FWIW, this is a pretty low activity forum. If you want a lot of people to sees this, you might consider posting in the X1/X2 forum above.

Thanks!  I'll give that a try.  Also, thanks for your suggestion about posting in the different forum.

Good luck, there are a few distractions right now but with any luck someone else will chime in.
