So i am no pianist but i know the names of the chords i want to use,is there a way to select a chord name and have Sonar play it,I have platinum and would ideally like to use a piano patch.
Would save me a ton of time.

Thanks

If you have a keyboard attached, you can easily record what you want

Or, if you use the Piano Roll View you can enter the notes individually

So you mean you want to play a Gmin7, and you don't know the notes in that chord, you just know you want a Gmin7, correct?

Mmmm... let me look into this.  I don't know a way right off the top of my head.

If you check out Toontrack EZKeys it will do what you want and tons besides.

It's a VST instrument and Sonar is the host.

This looks like it does what you want: IPH midiChords

I couldn't figure out a way with tools/synths included with Sonar.  I thought there was a way in Strum Session 2, but no go.

Also came across this: Cogitone Harmony Navigator

Had to download the demo for that one.  Looks interesting.

Didn't Craig develop a (free) chord library that you just drag in a MIDI chord by name from the browser? Perhaps it's still available.

There are some CAL scripts that create chords. Enter the root notes in the PRV then run the scripts to create the chords.
