When I double click on a MIDI construction Kit file it populates into Sonar Professional, nicely labeling the tracks and populating the correct midi information to each track. When I add a soft synth and either direct the output of the midi track to the soft synth, I get 0 sound and the soft synth will not sound on it's own. If I copy the midi clip to a new soft synth, it won't sound. I have no other trouble with MIDI files, just those from the kit that contains all the tracks. Your assistance is appreciated.

You might need to check the midi channel of the midi track or of the notes themselves and make sure that the synth is listening on that same channel(s).

Does the synth make sound when you use a keyboard or the virtual keyboard?

Which synths? If they are Cakewalk sfz engine synths like the SI series, Session Drummer, DPro... see http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3461658

Thanks for the notes. I double click the MIDI kit first, then install the soft synth...usualy SI Piano and Bass. I can play them, but when I copy midi clip to the synth, the instrument no longer plays.

This is a well known issue. The link I posted above explains the problem and how to deal with it.

Perfect scook, thank you so much. This has frustrated me for a long time.
