I have a used (new to me) VS100 that I want to use with my current X2 install on a Win7 64 PC.

The Vs100 is 1.50 firmware. Audio drivers working fine. Mixer functions as expected.

The Act button will not light up though. And I can't get the transport/channel buttons to work.

I loaded the win7 64 drivers:v2.0: Support for OCTA-CAPTURE + lower latency driver. But nothing else.

When I try to update to the "1.0.4 Win7 update for SONAR VS" it asks me to locate the folder "VS". I have no idea where to look for this. And I tired looking all over.

Can't help but think I'm missing something.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

The first place I'd check is under Preferences / Midi / Control Surface and see if the VS-100 is listed there (if not, add it) and the In and Out ports have CONTROL (VS-100) listed there as well as the Act button checked. Then I think it will allow you to turn on the Act Button.

I think the 1.0.4 Win7 update is an older update and you have already installed newer versions.

Hope that helps

Yeah Koda after I posted this, I went take a look and sure enough, the in/out ports were selected wrong, even though I was sure I selected the right ones when I added the VS100.

Anyway you are right, once I did that it allowed the ACT button to turn on and everything is working as expected. Which is really nice! Great piece of gear!

Great to hear you got it working!
Often I find those settings seem to change but I usually rack it up to adding and removing other midi devices and it changes the order they come up in Sonar. Just my guess though.
Thanks for letting me know.

As a rule of thumb, I always check the Preferences / Midi / Control Surface settings anytime a different piece of gear is used.  I will use my internal sound card for quick checks with Sonar as I use that for my default sound on my computer, and then switch to the VS 100 when recording or laying down MIDI tracks.
