CakeWalk Forums,
I have been having trouble lately connecting my UM1G MiDi Device to control sound and lighting cues for a show.

My Scenario:
I have a Roland CakeWalk UM1G MiDi Interface connected to my MacBook Pro which is running QLAB (latest version) which connects to a JANDS EVENT48 Lighting Console.
I am having trouble setting up these devices to interact and connect to one another, I'm completely new to MiDi and have a basic understanding of how it all works, however am having no luck successfully running a show as of yet.
I want to be able to play all cues through QLAB and synchronize the audio and lighting together with a simple on-demand "GO" press.
I have read manuals for all products, but possibly lack some of the terminology in connecting the devices to make it all work successfully.

Could someone please help me? Suggestions, Am I doing something wrong? Are they compatible at all...?

Hmm JANDS you say?,are you in Oz?[Thats where JANDS used to be based] I'm sorry I'm certainly no lighting guy, even though my first touring band,we had to ALL set up the OTT 60 can lightshow, and then the Double 4 way PA[so much fun-lug for hours-too tired to play properly-pull it all down, pack it ALL into an ancient School Bus[that we also had to live in-fun days....arr no]

Sorry,I don't know Mac's either, but I do wanna get an i7 Haswell Mac mini[if they ever release it in 2013!]

Again,I saw "0 replies"and thought maybe I could at least relate slightly?
Good Luck
Sincerely
Bob
