Hello,

Is there a way to view and back up notes entered in the Notes Browser in case of any computing scenario that loses the notes?

Where are they specifically located on my HD?

I am running Windows and have SONAR Pro.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

JWP

Just guessing, but they are probably saved within the .cwp project file.

The project file is a good guess. It is easy to verify:
  • Open a new project
  • add some easy to search string in notes, for example "yabba dabba doo"
  • save the project, for example "theProjectName.cwp"
  • close SONAR
  • open Powershell
  • change directories to the folder where the project file was saved
  • type: Select-String -Path theProjectName.cwp -Pattern yabba
The result will show the string in the project file.

In Sonar Resources and Utilities there is a utility called "Projectscope".  It will reveal a lot of  information about each project including Notes.

Hello,

Thank you.

I'll attempt these two methods.

Projectscope has been updated.  Here > http://forum.cakewalk.com/ProjectScope-for-Sonar-Project-Files-CWPs-updated-to-support-new-Sonar-project-features-m3584169.aspx

Sonar Resources and Utilities points to an older version of Projectscope.
