I'm not able to get PLAY to show as a vst in Sonar's hierarchy. I can see the .dll in the "vstplugins" folder with all of the other vst that Sonar CAN see but I can open or find PLAY within Sonar at all. Don't see how I can load a specific vst .dll, only scan a fold. Have scanned, rescanned, and still won't show up. I'm certain I'm missing something easy but alas, I remain stuck.....

I would first move the .dll file from the vstplugins folder to a temporary folder, re-open Sonar, close Sonar, move .dll file back into vstplugins folder and try opening Sonar again

Make sure you Reset as well, that's arguably the more important step that many overlook.

Been awhile since I had an East West product, but it still uses the Play engine right?  Make sure the play.dll is in your vst folder.  (You can safely move it to the right folder, but do not copy -- that won't work. Or, just add the current location to your VST paths in Sonar).

Delete and try to reinstall "Play". Maybe the .dll-file is broken.
Open the Plugin Manager and take a look to the option "Show excluded".
Maybe a scan failed and it is on the excluded list.

just realized I never circled back to say thanks for the help - advice worked and it's fixed = thanks everyone!
