I am no longer able to locate the arpeggiator .ptn folder. I have searched the hard drive and the installation disk, but nothing shows up in either location. Where do the .ptn files reside? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The default for PTN files in X3 Producer is "C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\PTN MIDI Patterns"

The actual path is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X3\ContentLocations "PTN MIDI Patterns"

That folder does not exist on my computer. I do not see any midi patterns except for Session Drummer.

Sounds like an incomplete installation but I can only provide specific answers for X3 Producer. In addition to a version specific folder, Cakewalk Content should have MIDI loops in "C:\Cakewalk Content\MIDI Library."

BTW, while the arpeggiator can load ptn files, the preset for it have an arp extension. The X3 Producer default for these files is " C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\Arpeggiator Patterns."

There should be a version specific folder for each version of SONAR in "Cakewalk Content." There should also be folders for audio and MIDI libraries. The actual location of "Cakewalk Content" is installation dependent. May want to check the path in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software "ContentDir"

I don't see the "contentlocations  folder. Everything else up to that point appears. The patterns used to exist, but somewhere along the way, it got pointed to a different folder and now they are not there. I don't want to do a clean reinstall, but that may be the only solution.
Thanks for your help,
Vince

I found the folder in the registry, but it doesn't appear in the X3 folder, and if I try to point to it, it says that the folder does not exist. I did not think this would be such a hassle. Thanks again for your help. I may have to work on it at a later date, but you've been a big help and I now know where to look.
Thanks,
Vince
