Hi All
Cakewalk is still my #1 DAW but one thing that annoys me no end is clip pane scrolling. I find having to move mouse pointer up to the top half of time ruler and get it just right till the magnifying glass appears frustratingly fidgety. I already use my own keyboard bindings, left/right arrows to Zoom in/out horizontally but want to use the mouse as well.

Questions...
  • Is their a key binding or another way to activate the scrolling function that is less frustrating?

  • Is their a way to make cakewalk act like some other DAW’s (eg Mixcraft, Reaper) so while mouse pointer is over track pane, it scrolls through tacks and while mouse pointer is over clip pane it will scroll clips horizontally?
 Note...
While researching I discovered some nice additional features I was unaware of that I though I’d share.
  • Holding down SHIFT slows down scrolling
  • Right-click and drag up/down to zoom tracks vertically. The current track is centred.
  • Double-click to show and fit selection (or fit project if there is no selection).

Try these:

ALT + Mouse Wheel = zoom horizontally
SHIFT + ALT + Mouse Wheel = zoom horizontally faster
CTRL + Mouse Wheel = scroll horizontally
SHIFT + CTRL + Mouse Wheel = scroll horizontally faster

Thanks Mark
CTRL + Mouse Wheel = scroll horizontally works for me
Left ALT + Mouse Wheel = zoom horizontally works for me
Right ALT + Mouse Wheel = Unfortunately changes the audio clip zoom factor of the clip that mouse pointer is hovering over.
