Resonant Serpent
I don't know... I think something may have changed with the last update.

I tested by playing a media file that was 16/44.1 in Windows Media Player. The project I'm working on was 24/44.1. This is something I do all the time when I'm on the phone or playing a reference track.

Just now, I shut down Windows Media Player. I then shut down Sonar, and Sonar crashed on exit. This is something I've done 1000 x's and never had a crash on exit.

I sent the crash report.

Open up the Sound Settings in the Windows Control panel, go into the device playback properties and set the sample rate to agree with the setting in SONAR.

Restarted Sonar, and it works fine. I shut down, and all is normal.

If I play a video on Chrome (Youtube, Facebook), or use Windows Media Player, Sonar crashes on exit.

Using Lynx Two on fully updated Windows 7 Pro.

Not to "hijack" this thread, but when I follow your directions, I don't get a download link in the top left corner.  I only see an "i" in a circle (indicating "information").  When I click that, I get a "bubble" that has information about the Tech+Music issue.  No download link.

All other download links display the login (or register) page (which I don't really want to do).

Am I missing something?

Yes, the information seems to be incorrect. It looks like you have to register to download it. I registered to download last month's which was on another site. I don't like to register on sites I am never going to use again - chucking my information in databases all over the web isn't great for security, privacy or spam. However, I like to download the e-zines to read at my leisure when I have time. Update: someone posted a link to download it in the ezine thread https://app.box.com/v/tech-plus-music

When I open the forum link and select full screen, I get a downward pointing arrow to the right of the Information circle and when I click that, the screen opens loading the PDF into the browser. I'm on an IPad (Safari) so I don't know if that makes a difference. Sorry if it doesn't work for you. I'll stop recommending folks do it that way seeing as it doesn't work for everyone.

It was confirmed as working by someone from Cakewalk with the release of the first Tech+Music mag last month when I first found it. I'll stop recommending folks do it that way seeing as it doesn't work for others.

Last month's Tech + Music was hosted on a different site. Maybe you are already registered to this site so it gives you the download. For everyone else, it requires you to register. Someone posted an alternative download link anyway so all sorted.

I checked and while it worked both last month and this month from my iPad it doesn't work on my PC with either Chrome, Edge or IE.

I don't have a login to the site used last week nor the one used this week. I'm invited to login or register, but as I explained by going to full screen I get a downward pointing arrow which loads the mag into the browser to be downloaded as a pdf.

Anyway seeing as it doesn't seem to work for others I'll stop recommending it as a shortcut to getting the pdf.

Hey Al,
I'm glad you didn't read too much into my comments in my first post in this thread and escalate something that was a thoughtless comment on my part. I usually confine my rants to things not people. I hope you accept my apology. Ah patience; when will I learn it.

I use a Presouns audiobox usb , everything is set to the same sample rate and bit depth, but if Sonar is open i cannot hear audio from any other source.
Videos wont even play in chrome or Edge.
I have the "suspend audio option" ticked , its so annoying as i have to close Sonar and then open a browser before i can hear any audio from the browser.
This needs some looking into as it is not working as intended (at least for me )

No, I take it back. It's stopped sharing the driver again. I just reopened the same 44k project where I was able to playback a mix in windows while Sonar was still running, and now I can't again. There does seem to be an issue. I never had this problem before 2006.05.
