every once in a while a try again...never ever get it working well
then no sound at all, then cannot get it routed, then cannot get the midi sorted.
loving Sonar but trying to use soft synths makes me want to throw the computer out the window every time.
 
todays prob. How can I stop Addictive Drums playing (previewing) the groove and the midi at the same time ?
every time a press the control bar to start play, both the preview Addictive and the Adictive midi track play.

To stop the preview from playing at the same time as the midi track you are using, press the stop button on the addictive drums preview window and then just use control bar to start and stop midi track you are using. It seems a little odd, but that's how Addictive preview is setup.

EDIT: Oh lord... never mind.
I guess the "Sync to Host" button is over rated

Once you get everything sorted the way you want it, save it as a track template for future use.

What happens when you hit the stop/start button again ? If the  "Sync to Host" button is on,
It will happen every time.

Hey Chuck, the sync button in Addictive turns the preview playback on/off, indeed with it off it only plays the midi track.
The tempo button (right under the sync button) syncs the tempo to Sonar.
