First, sorry for my poor english, i will try to be clear.
I can't scan my VST folders with the plugin manager since i've installed v6.2. The Options, Plug-in properties and Scan VST Plugins buttons are grayed out all the time. I've reinstalled everything from v6.0 several times, clean registry, get rid of old VST adapter entry but nothing seems to work. I WANT INPUT QUANTIZE :) (I'm so lazy)
I didn't find anything anywhere on this. It's like i'm the only one with this prob.

Thanx a lot!

Do you have a VST plugins directory listed in the VST Setup? Maybe the update erased your old reference?

Hi LionSound

Where is the VST Setup?

All the paths are there. The plugins i've installed before are all there and working. Everything have linked back no problem. It's just that i can't scan any vst\vsti plugins anymore. In the Global Options, the Scan VST Folders, Reset All VST Plugins and the Folder default buttons are also grayed out.

I had the same thing happen after Microsoft Update hung in the middle of the update. There was nothing I could do to fix the problem except a hard drive format and re-install of Windows & Sonar. (That wasn't the only issue, something seriously bad happened.) It seems like it's a registry issue, so you might try using system restore to back up to a time that you know it worked. I hope you have better luck than I had.

John

I think it's a registry issue too but you had a really bigger problem than mine i think. My sympathy. Like i said, everything is working with v6.0.1. It's only when the 6.2 update program copies my sonar stuff and preferences all over the place (Application Data folder and My Documents) that the plugin manager seems to lost the path of both vst and vsti folders that i have. Why Sonar implement this anyway?

And I disable system restore on my computer, bad bad bad on DAW computer. (Glitches, dropouts...)

Thank You By The Way!

It sounds like your update was prematurely terminated or you cancelled out when it was copying files. You can force the user personalization by holding down shift while launching SONAR. Then allow it to copy files and initialize settings for your user account. After this try scanning again.

Actually, I thought the same thing for a long time, but I've enabled it lately and had zero problems. Of course it's of dubious value since it doesn't really restore your system back the way it was, but it's something.

I think they had to move files around during the update to make the file locations compatible with Vista's security features.
