This isn't about what anyone know, but what would you hope for, imagine, foresee.

Now they have re-worked both the LP-EQ and LP-MB and superseded Boost with the new Adaptive-Limiter, what's next. Although these can be used for both mixing and mastering, it seems to me as though the Sonar Approach is the mix in PC and master in VST, with an overlap and flexibility to do both either way.

So what would you like the next step to to be, what would you guess they are up to. Are they focusing on the mastering chain, I wonder if and analyzer is next, or a Dynamic EQ.

We've not had many Pro Channels for a while. With the third party options, most bases seems covered. Maybe a Transient Designer. When they created the ProChannel format, they gave created an 'Analysis Category', but no PC modules were developed for it. This would have to be a fly-out I imagine to get something to be helpfully readable.

Sonar is becoming a pretty complete package. There are third party plugins that I prefer but not many that, as a "type", don't exist in Sonar. I guess a dynamic EQ is one, although it seems very similar to a multiband compressor. A dedicated adjustable VU meter seems like it would fit well in the ProChannel.

Actually, now that I think of it, metaplugins would be cool - similar to the BlueCat series. Those would be great for parallel and multiband processing with any plugin. The possibilities we'd get with FX chains would then also expand dramatically.

Sonar lacks a legitimate Noise Reduction Plugin

I'd think a delay would be a decent add to the pro-channel.

A valuable add would be an analyzer that works with selecting different channels so you can see overlap and relationships to adjust eqs accordingly.

I think a composition tool would be a valuable add.

I'd love some compositional tools, but the thread is more about VST/PC Plugs.

I have a ProChannel delay, it's part of the VKFX. If they were to do these, then maybe chorus/flangers and phasers would be planned too. But I'm thinking the VKFX covers these and sonar want to focus on the mixing PC than the more creative ones.

Taking advantage of the ProChannels minimal footprint, would be a great way to put analyzers on several tracks, but have a combined flyout to show them all. I hadn't thought of it that way. That could also allow developing a comprehensive analyzer that served both the Mixing and Mastering needs.

Sonar has a lot of tools now to do a lot of different things.
One thing I believe it is missing though is a good or even half decent Meter.
Its impossible to do any fine detailed work on the small meters Sonar has in the Master bus.

If they incorporate the meter they have on the Adaptive limiter, life would be great.
So I am hoping for a fly out meter, or something the equivalent.
I do have plug ins that do this in my tool box, so its not totally necessary for myself to have a great meter.
But if Sonar wants to complete the package, a good meter (with built in K-system) is where I would start.

+1 for a decent analyser/meter. Sonar Plat does provide a comprehensive toolset but probably the most important thing that is missing now is a good analyser.

A face lift for the bread and butter effects would be really nice. If I remember correctly, Sonar Home Studio 4 had really nice GUI's for the reverb, delay, etc.... Then those just didn't transfer over in the newer releases of the software.

^^^^^ This would be fantastic!
