The Sonitus plugins are fantastic. It's a shame people write them off for being "old looking" because they're pure work-horses that just get the job done with no fuss.

I use the compressor on bass tracks quite frequently.

I think Sonar has the bases mostly covered when it comes to bread and butter effects (especially when you consider how good some of the less featured but still very usable effects like Sonitus suite are). I would like to see something creative like a stutter edit type .

Another delay besides Sonitus, and an analyzer similar to the Blue Cat multi freq pro...

Well there are the two Nomad Factory BT delays and Cakewalk Tempo Delay, but yeah, why not? Delays are fun.

On the subject of fun delays, have you tried Diffuse by Surreal Machines? It's far from bread and butter, and free until 8 June 2017:  https://www.surrealmachines.com/product/dub-machines-vstau/

Tip: use the VST3 version. The VST2 version can cause Sonar to hang.

Definitely!  So far I'm finding it quite interesting, and have been playing with it for a few days.  It has tons of presets that demonstrate the range that it has. One of my favorite presets is "Half Black Hole".

Just for kicks, I have been pairing Diffuse with the free Pancake (stereo auto-panner) from Cable Guys.  http://www.cableguys.com/pancake.html

Interesting combination!

Let any/all plugins go into the pro channel.

You already can do that with fx chains

Sure, but now I have to make an FX chain. I can do that in the fx bin too.
