I just purchased Grand Rhapsody Piano from Waves, and the installation was pretty confusing. I finally found instructions on specifically installing the plugin on Sonar, which included a rescan from the VST plugin manager. However, when I do this rescan after adding the appropriate VST Scan Paths, Sonar freezes up while "Scanning opengl32sw.dll", which appears to be a file associated with this new plugin. Help!

Is that dll on your c drive?

FYI that has nothing to do with this problem:
Settings: 16-Bit, Sample Rate 44.1k,

Why 16 bit? Set it to 24bit. You are loosing 256 times the resolution in 16bit audio

jkoseattle Sonar freezes up while "Scanning opengl32sw.dll",

that's not a VST which is why sonar freezes

Normally, SONAR is able to distinguish VSTs from other DLLs so there's usually no problem having support DLLs in the VST search path (and there are many). However, in order to make that determination it does have to open the file and examine its header, and the scanner is apparently having trouble with that.

What I'd try is moving opengl32sw.dll into the system32 directory. The plugin should still be able to find it when needed, but it won't confuse the VST scanner.

Sometimes, once in a blue or green moon, my plug in manager will scan those types of dlls, regardless of the folder paths I set,  ...

@bitflipper - Thank you! That solved my problem. I also sent a mail to Waves support telling them they should annotate that little detailin their installation instructions.
