  • [Solved] Can't delete one track audio without deleting everything in project?

What have I got set wrong?  I have a project I'm working on, if there's some audio in the track view or even a mixdown I don't like and I select JUST that audio (making double sure no other track or audio is selected) and then delete either with delete key or right click>edit>delete, ALL audio gets deleted.  I rolled back to May and no difference.  I thought it might be a June bug but it's not.  I'm wondering if I've fat-fingered some preferences setting or something.  Seems to be related to the time ruler.  Everything under whatever time selection is indicated whether it be bars 10-15 or the whole project gets deleted.  And again, ONLY the highlighted audio and track is selected.  I've even used ctrl-shift-A to deselect everything first.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  I'm sure it's something I did...I've never seen this before.  And I ALWAYS highlight>delete tracks so the procedure is a common one for me.

sounds like some sort of grouping issue.
What if you use the smart tool and left click/Lasso a clip (not the track/just the clip)
Will that delete ?

I'll try that.  I also noticed that at the top of the clip there's a small bar that says it's "entire mix xxxxx" so it does seem to be referencing more tracks but I have no idea why...I'll see if i can post a pic...weird.

Ok, fixed.  Somehow in Preferences>Customization>Editing, I had selected "When splitting clips into groups, create new groups".  Then at some point after I must have split a clip so the split persisted throughout all tracks and created a big group.  I deselected the box and all good now.  Handy tip.
