Sam Ash has the VS 100 on closeout for $299 for a short time.  I bought mine in February for this price.  It was gone the next day.   Last week Sam posted a note that they have a few more VS-100's available.

I have had no problems using my 100 with Sonar X2a.  I also have the A 800 Pro and these units work together just fine.  Again, no problems.  Roland and Cakewalk just updated the drivers to support Windows 8.  Another great feature is that the VS-100 will work with the Roland Octacapture to give the user 14 inputs using the digital input and output between the units.  This also applies to the VS-700.

My unit was up to date with driver 1.5 installed.  I hope anyone who wants a VS-100 gets it for this price.

I've been looking at it for a couple of days... even put it in my cart. I am hoping it will sell out before I give in. I already have an Octa Capture, the VS 100 would pretty much relegate the OC to the shelf because I almost never use more that two inputs. I already have two field recorders for live events... so I am trying to control myself. I just have to keep my thinking straight... I have a Tranzport. I just need to remember that, it is SO easy for me to buy new stuff I don't really need.
Must resist... but a great deal!!! I would jump on it FAST if I didn't alrady have an OC.

Just purchased one from Sam Ash at $299. I'm sure something better will be coming out that will blow the V-Studio 100 away, but I can afford the $299 and I'm sure I can get some good use out of it. Thanks for the lead.

That is... very tempting. I'd love a second unit as a backup because I absolutely love this thing for mobile recording and as mentioned in another thread, I use it as my main soundcard for this computer I'm on which works great for small projects if I'm not in my studio... I just think my wife would kill me if I bought more toys right now. ;)

I feel your pain :).  I waited a long time to be able to afford one as I am now disabled and my wife is in grad school.  However, at least you have one now, but go ahead and spring for a second.  Blame it on me when your wife finds out (I can duck fairly well).

And Walt, you will love your new unit.

Just checked with Sam Ash.  They are still selling them for $299 (5/16/13) and have a nice pic on their cover.

Sam Ash has sold out the 100, who knows if they will get more in the future?

I got one off ebay for $200. I really didn't know what I was getting except a good audio interface.

Man was I surprised! I love this thing! Had I really known what it could do I would have gotten one long ago. It just helps my work flow so much. I haven't even gotten real familiar with it yet. And I can see the situation will only get better.

For users of X2, I highly recommend one. You won't regret it.

I know I don't. It's perfect for my music room set up.

Couldn't agree more Wally. In fact this morning I am going to pull out my compressor, mixer, headphone monitor, and mic preamp that I had been using and just go with the VS 100! I just didn't think this thing would do all that it does so well. I am going to open up a lot of space!
