Hi!

Sorry if the topic have been discussed already but I could not find an answer using the search function.

The title says it all, when I select an instrument track, the channel strip control section on the vs700c goes blank and messing with the buttons won't affect any parameters.  Pressing the "EQ" button will scroll through prochannels modules but it's not very handy since I can't control anything....

Can anybody confirm this behavior or I'm the chosen one?

Thanks

What controls are you expecting to see in the channel strip section when you select an instrument track?

prochannel controls

Of which module? With the track being the topmost window when you select it, and the dual nature of the instrument track being a synth and audio track, I'm not sure what should come up first. The synth editor controls or the pro-channel controls, or neither until you select either the synth editor window or the pro-channel. When you select the pro-channel, do the controls change with the module you select?

mmmm strangely enough I rebooted my computer and everything returned to normal... now I can adjust the prochannel parameters and switch track and the channel strip control display update correctly.

Not sure what happened, I'll try to trigger this behavior by repeating the steps I've done so far (it's a new project) and I'll report back.

Thanks Crg for taking the time to help.

Ok I got it. I sent a report to Cakewalk seconds ago.  Instrument tracks don't have anything to do with it. Here it is if someone like to experience bugs

  1. Create a new BLANK project
  2. In "Preference - Control Surface", select "Track View" in "Control strip visible in:"
  3. Insert 16 audio tracks
  4. Close the "Track Inspector" if it is open
  5. Select the 12 first tracks and move them to a new folder
  6. Collapse the folder
  7. Open "Console view" to witness Sonar's behavior, the best is to be able to see both "track View" and "console view"
  8. Select track 13 on the console with the "SEL" button. It should be the first available track
  9. Press "COMMAND+EQ" on the console to open the Prochannel view in Sonar. It should open in the "Console View" but only open the "Inspector" in the "Track View"
  10. Notice the Prochannel section openned in track 1 and not track 13
  11. Select track 13 again on the console
  12. To see the Prochannel in the Track View, you should need to prees "COMMAND+EQ" a second time
  13. Doing this will loose the console focus on the 13th track. Select track 13 on the console and watch the "Channel Strip Control" section. Nothing should apear on the screen.
  14. Open the folder containing track 1-12
  15. Everything should return to normal.

sounds like this is the old "hidden channel problem" ... hide one channel or track (or assign one to be fixed to a certain fader) and everything to the right doesn't work anymore (wrong plugs selected, etc.)

i reported similar issues in january, heard back in may that this is "submitted to development" ... wonder if it makes it into X2b or X3 or whatever ...
