Hi.
 
I have a question about the MIDI track types.
 
Seen in the picture attached, they all have different icons but to me look like they all work same.
But I noticed that although the piano icon track can be played as standalone, MIDI port icon track that even has output set as the soft synth does not give sound without either of the tracks with piano icon tracks.
 
How are each track types called, what are the functions of each type, and how do I insert each of them?

The three icons in order are

• Instrument Track - an instrument track is a simplified combination of an audio track and MIDI track. Most of the features of  audio and MIDI tracks are available.
• Audio Track - a regular audio track with the input predefined to a soft synth. Aside from the input being predefined, it is identical to a regular audio track.
• MIDI Track - a MIDI only track. This track contains only MIDI data. The output of this track is used to drive a plug-in; most often a soft synth. To be heard soft synth must routed to one or more audio track inputs. A soft synth may also have more than one MIDI track. A MIDI track can also be used to control an effect plug-in.

Whether you insert an Instrument track or use an Audio+MIDI tracks usually happens as a result of the selections made with the "Insert Soft Synth Options Dialog." However, there is an option to Make/Split Instrument tracks and audio and MIDI tracks may be created at any time for adding input and output to an existing plug-in. The options are all shown in the context menu displayed by right-clicking in the track strip in the track view or console strip in the console view.

I'm still confused of how I split and combine the instrument track into MIDI and audio tracks in MC6T.
Could you show me how do I do that?

Right-click on the instrument track in the track pane (c in the illustration below), there should be an option to "Split Instrument Track" in the menu. Right click on either the audio or MIDI track related to a synth in the track pane, there should be an option to "Make Instrument Track".

But I can't still find anything like that option.
Above image is the only things that I can find when I right-clicked on the instrument track.
I'm using Music Creator 6 Touch.

It appears that MC6T has removed the option from the menu. Normally it would be above the "Clone Track" option. Check the Tracks menu in the track view.
