I just reinstall my computer with Win 8.1 Pro after several years under seven.
 
All is running fine except Rapture.
 
Especially some sequenced presets from Fisound.
 
If I use microhost no problem,
but with sonar X3, Platinium & studio one 2, if I play a midi file the plugin stop & freeze.
 
Studio one don't close, but both (X3 & Platinium) sonar closed.
 
Since 3 days I search a solution and my head is going to explose.
 
If someone have some suggestion it would be very helpfull.
 
 
 
 

What is the source of the MIDI file? Some third party MIDI file contain instructions usually at the beginning of the file which can cause problems with Cakewalk sfz engine synths. Here is a similar post with details about how to handle this data  http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3235786. While the thread is about DPro, Rapture has similar issues.

unfortunately the source is just the piano roll or my my PX7 command station as controler keyboard.
 
In fact I don't change anything in my setup just fresh install.
The problem is very strange. Same file or piano roll or emu keyboard with other vsti don't create this.

I think I ran into that before with some of the converted files from Band in a Box converted to Sonar so I could put effects run them through Peavey Revalver stuff like that.  There might be a midi message that got hooked on the midi file.   There are people with enough patience and rhythm and orchestration ability to go through and check for midi control change messages and identify something like that.  But for me I used pieces that didn't have all that added midi message.  It's really easy to bring over a style from Biab and then modify it in Sonar so that is what I do with many of my files.

All of those programs use .sfz files which utilize the delay_beats= and stop_beats= to sequence samples.  I had someone else report a similar issue with these programs not working on their system.  I'll report the issue to Cakewalk.
