Hi.
Has anyone with a Novation Peak synth come across an instrument definition file that will work (bank and patch change) with this synth?  I have found a few that will select patches (incorrectly named of course) but not banks.

Thanks
Anj

I use a PEAK but not with Instrument defs.

Well i found one that works better.  It's the Access Virus c OS5 from the user library of instrument defs that is available for download.  It has eight banks but can be edited down.  Banks B, C, D, and E will operate banks A, B, C and D on the Peak.

Hey Stickman393 do you use your DAW to control your Peak?  If so,  have you had any trouble getting the Peak to respond to volume control messages?  I can't seem to get mine to.  I use Cakewalk Sonar producer 8.5 and i have five other hardware synths that have no (volume control) issues.

Hi anj, no I don't send CC or NRPN to the Peak from my DAW. There's a comprehensive MIDI parameter list in the back of the PEAK manual - what are you sending for volume control?  You could try "Mixer Patch Level" which is NRPN 0:41 (0-127)

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to sending control signals to hardware synths...

Thanks Stickman... i am also a newbie when it comes to control signals other than the most basic, volume and pan.  But I have never had a keyboard or module that couldn't accept basic volume control change messages from Sonar.  I even have a Minimoog that is very finicky with midi but accepts volume control messages with no trouble.  It's baffling.  The answer i got from Novation tech support was that the master volume control of the Peak is an analog circuit so it would not handle digital CC messages.  I will experiment with the Mixer Patch Levels that you mentioned.  Thanks for the tip.
