Did I read that there's a shortcut for adding a chosen VST plugin to all tracks ?. I've searched the forum for details, but as yet I can't find any mention of it.

I ask as I'm planning to remix a selection of tracks using Waves NLS and a shortcut could be quite a time saver.

Thanks in advance

Crtl-click all the track numbers in the Trackview (or if they are in sequence crtl-shift click the first and last tracks) to make a quick group, then hold ctrl and right click the FX bin and choose Insert Audio FX... then pick the plugin.  It should add to every track in the quick group you made (by ctrl clicking the tracks).  You can also hold ctrl and drag the effect from the plugin browser to the FX bin I think too.

Many thanks for your reply, I'll give it a go this evening.

I believe this doesn't work with Waves NLS, or at least it will put all instances on the same virtual channel.

You can ctrl+ drag them to duplicate them as well.

If that is the case, then just put the plugin on a bus and highlight all tracks you want to send to that bus and insert a send to that bus.

This is the method I would usually employ, but the NLS VST includes both assignable channel components and a dedicated buss interface. In order to recreate the sound of one of the available consoles (SSL 4000G / EMI TG12345 MK4 / Custom 5116 Neve Console), each track requires its own channel component.

I've created a template for new projects, but existing projects will need reconfiguring. If all else fails I'll stop being lazy and add the components manually.

Thanks to all for responding, it's appreciated.

Thanks very much for this tip Matt, I'm pleased to say that it works perfectly in Sonar Platinum.
