I've written a new song "Through It All" at 80 bpm 6/8 time and I'm looking for a military drum roll at the end of the song with either Addictive Drums, Sission Drummer or midi/vst loop. I just can't seem to find one. I have something temporary that was done off a keyboard but would like to find something more realistic. Here is a link to the song if you care to give it a listen.

I think it sounds pretty good to be honest.
Typically with fast military beats like this they tend to sound robotic and machinegun like when using Soft synths.
The only way to alleviate this is to use a real snare drum.
 
With that being said if you are using Soft synths, velocity's changes will help extremely.

Hey, it's funny, I will need to do something similar as well.
After some research, I saw this video (they use FL Studio, but it should work in Sonar fine:)

It's basically using short notes, close together with velocity adjustments.
 
Looking at the video, he also uses double tracking and pans one slightly left and the other slightly right.  One the other sample, I would change the pitch of one every so slightly so there's a slight difference, talking a few cents.  A little bit of reverb/spatial processing helps round it out a bit.

Have a look around the 3:20 mark.
 
In this video, they use the Step sequencer and play around with flam settings and CC data to create a drum roll.  This method has a LOT of advantages for doing it this way, mainly then you can work in the Step Sequencer to 'sequence' the rolls, and you also can then get MIDI patterns that can be used to 'paint' rolls when you need them.  
 
I'm going to try to do this with the SS with Session drummer first and try to do the similar thing just like in the 1st video over the next few days (time permitting).  There looks to be sufficient samples in Session Drummer for me to get started, but I may also switch to Battery or Geist or other sample packs that I have.  I'll will try to post back here and let you know what I've been able to do.

I'll chime in here. I saw this thread when it first started, listened to the track, and enjoyed it. Especially since it was a tribute to the fallen soldiers that keep us all free!
 
Since I'm a drummer I thought to myself... It would take me an hour or more to search through libraries to find the right part, but it would only take me about 10-15 minutes to play it! My drums are set up permanently in my studio with all the mics there and everything stays set up for recording.
 
So I downloaded Will's song off ReverbNation, loaded it up into my sonar, set the tempo at 80bpm, and recorded it. I exported the part and sent it to Will.
 
I wanted to make sure he didn't feel obligated to use it, I don't want to push myself on anyone. But just said, "if you like it use it" and "if not, it's no big deal, I enjoyed doing it anyway." And it's "free" the only thing I asked is that if he used the part to give me credit for it on the liner notes. 
 
Will liked the part and has been working on finishing the song. I'll let him notify everyone if there is a new version up on RN yet.
 
I will also say that I've traded a few emails with Will and it's been a pleasure doing this for him. It's a totally different style of music to what my band plays, but still a style I enjoy. Best of luck to Will with the song and his new album.
