Hey Phuket is a real place. I went there about 10 years ago. It is wonderful, though I thought the tsunami whacked it really hard. For the geographically challanged, it is an island (or group of islands) on the south west side of Thailand.

I sympathize with the guy on everything except one issue --> Karaoke. Few people know this but Karaoke is part of an evil Japanese conspiracy to humiliate everyone in the free world. The Japanese don't actually sing Karaoke. They export it to the rest of the planet. They are secretly taping everyone that sings badly under the influence and storing the tapes to blackmail important people when the time is right.

I got this from Weekly World News.

Look
Sonar is for recording and playing back stuff. You need an audio card. If you have MP3s and want to use sonar, take the outputs of the audio card and feed them to a mixer. Take a microphone and also feed that to a mixer. Take the output of the mixer to a suitable power amp, then to your speakers. That will give you a workable setup.

If you are worried that something is wrong with Sonar, take a cd player into the mixer. See if that works. Make sure none of the channels on the mixer are lighting up red. That means the inputs are too loud.

If you find someone who knows something about stereo gear, they might be able to help you track down what is wrong. Otherwise it is sort of hit and miss.

I stayed a week at the Boat House on Kata Beach back in 99 or so. I loved Phuket.

I think I can help, but I need to know a little more about your computer. Which Mac computer model are you using? Are you using the OSX operating system?

Turn down the trim on whatever the mic is going into, and turn down the channel volume until it fits with the music. How many elephants will be at the wedding? When I went to a Thai wedding, there were 13. 6 represented the Bride and her family, six for the groom and his family, and one for the life they would create as a married couple. Very cool.
