I agree with you on that, but I also have been asking questions about the demo in other posts, and I am relatively sure it´s very close to the release version (Except plugins, libraries, etc) so I tested it because I personally only care about the handling/stability of the software which I want to check out. I don´t care about out of the box plugins or libraries, I have my own set of tools I use, but Sonar has to be the "engine".
I just don´t use the Sonar full version right now, because 7 is coming up and I don´t want to buy the "old" version so close before the release. Also I have to finish a running project in Nuendo, and I will continue to use it for post production, but not for music composition.
In the OPs case, she was just looking for a piece of software to put some music in... and didn´t know how.
