I hope this is not a coincidence.  It would be nice to figure this out.

Here goes -
I installed the 6.0 whatever (the new early release) update yesterday.  Messed around with sonar for a few hours.  Turned off my pc.

Today, my RME FF800 is not booting.  The sound thing in control panel doesnt show it installed.  I downloaded the newest drivers - no dice.

Rebooted, tried with rme power off and new driver install - nada.

fortunately my audio files are on a separate drive and if it comes to it, I can do a system restore.  But that bites.

Anyone having driver problems post the update?

Or has my RME bit the dust?

After the latest W10 update, creator, my fMS irewire drivers were for some reason hosed.

I thought it was my LS56, even sent it away to get fixed. Very red faced when i went through Device Manager and found a ! next to the Microsoft FW drver. Re-installed it and eveything is working great.

This tale of woe may help you.

Otherwise if you can try your RME on a different PC, and get the same results, then its off to the repair shop.

Good luck,
Jerry

I'm running the early release too, and my FF800 is fine. You on Win7, 8, or 10?

Win 7, RME Babyface driver 1.097, Splat 2017.06; no issues!
Haven't installed 06 in the Studio yet, same drivers for the UFX; expect no issues.
Of course the Babyface is USB and I'm using USB with the UFX.
Win 10 firewire issue?

I can only find one device in the device manager that no longer has a driver associated with it.

I cannot find where the RME driver installer is putting my driver to point the device manager there.

Do you know where they install?  It certainly was not under the drivers directory in Win 10.

Thanks.

Try this: Use the Search box in the Start menu and type in *.RME.dll or just *.dll, or if you know the exact name of the driver file, type that. Windows should reveal the file path for you.
