EDIT: I cannot find this option in either stand-alone or when opening the VST within Sonar.  I have looked through all the options I can find.

A previous post said the Sonar setting was under Sound Engine.  I do not see that.

NOTE:  I downloaded the most recent version of EZDrummer 2 and downloaded and installed all the updates.

John, On simple instrument tracks, are you referring to EZD?  I typically don't do that.  I do use simple instrument tracks for Kontakt/Scarbee bass, SI Elec Piano, and other single-sounds VIs (just to avoid clutter).  Is that a problem?

OK I understand that some believe less clutter is more important than total control but I'm not one of those. Also Kontakt is a multi out sampler and shouldn't be used as a simple instrument. Its not simple anyway. LOL

What I do is place all MIDI tracks together and all the audio outs together. When done with the MIDI its hidden. Whats left is just audio.  Clutter, what clutter?

Gotcha John.  Just didn't know how this related to EZD; but I understand about splitting the MIDI and Audio.  I do that often and put all the MIDI in a folder; but sometimes I get lazy on simple sounds.   I think you are correct, tho, that splitting is best.

But os this doesn't get lost:

Konrad I hope this is not OT but you are becoming one of my favorite posters. You have a nice manner. It will pay off in the end.

I don't use EZdrummer I am a BFD3 user and so I don't know anything about it. But I wish you well.

Thanks, John!  I have great respect for my fellow Forumites (Sonarians?).  Have a groovy day!

Konrad,

I replied to your PM but I will post some screen shots this evening to show you where the Sonar option is.

It is only in vst version of EZd.  Top right hand corner of EZdrummer interface is "Menu" drop down.  It is next to the orange section where you choose your kits/EZX.

Click on menu, 8th item down is "Sonar Options".  Choose "Show number of outputs on startup".

Then close the project.  When you then re-open the project you will be asked to choose number of outputs,, choose "8 Outputs", and all is well.

I don't have EXd do this all the time, only when I open a project that I started with EZd1.

HTH

Here's two screenshots to help you find the Sonar Option:

First the Menu button:

Then the drop down menu:

If you don't see that option in your EZD2 version, then you are NOT using the latest version.

First of all, thanks very much.  Secondly, I went to the website and downloaded the latest version and the updates and applied them.  That is very weird.  I will back to Toontrack and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks again for taking the time to do this!

EDIT: On the Toontrack site, Version 2.0.2 is the most recent version I see.
