@Jim R.
I use a mixer to monitor so latency is never an issue for me, AxeFX direct for guitars. everything else is midi except vocals of course. I bookmarked the -capture, I bought it but really never used it more than a couple hours.
My MB does have TB3 support with a card. Asus Z370 Prime A....Thanks
@Scook
Thanks for the link. I did, about a year ago, talk to echo tech and they said under no circumstances would the echo layla 3G work with any adapters? That's weird. But obviously it does.

So, as I mentioned in another post, the Octacapture seems like it will be OK for me. Just have to learn a new device all over again....jeeezzz! Oh well!

If you're monitoring via hardware, the OctaCapture will be just fine.

IIRC, round-trip latency is ~7.4ms at a 48-sample ASIO buffer size (44.1k).

Hey Jim
Yes I am monitoring via hardware. I have done that for a very long time.
But I am in a home studio, only me. All vocals are me. All guitars, electric and acoustic, are me.
Keys, Bass and drums are created in various way. Using softsynths!

Really need to learn\understand the Octa Capture because I am having issues. The hour or 2 I used it for years ago was fairly starightforward. That was windows 7 or 8. Now with win 10 Pro I seem to be lost.
I have searched for tutorials but most I have found just describe the many features. Seems most use the "mixer" aspect of the octacapture, and I do NOT want to do that.
I'll keep on it

Thanks for your input Jim

I had an Octa-Capture.  Used it in Win 7 then 8 and finally Win 10.  Worked the same in each OS. ??

Hey Fireberd

I am sure you r correct. I am really starting over with it, as I stated. All seems new to me. Not really getting it so far.

Right now I have to put my trusty Echo Layla 3G o0n a shelf and use my "never used" Octa-capture.
I really liked the Echo, it was fine for me but just couldn't get a motherboard that I was happy with that had an old PCI slot.

This may be of interest http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3778313

Thanks as always Scook. Even though I am messing with the Octacapture I just ordered the same exact adapter to give it a shot. I have plenty of PCI-E slots open. Card was $38 total. Worth a try to use something I am very use to and happy with.
