Is it possible to hide the key switch notes from staff view? If one uses a lot of key switches, the staff view becomes uselessly crowded. Any help would be great.

It's a bit of work, but a very good way is to put all of your keyswitched notes into a Drum Map. The map can then be shown stacked on top of the regular prv and maintains horizontal alignment.
 
This will need a separate Midi track to be set up for the KS notes but when you view the actual Notes in Staff View you won't see the KS notes
