  • Trying To Get Metronome in Head Sets Only (with audio in both headset and monitors)

I've got the V-Studio 700 and I am trying to figure out how to get the metronome (or click track) through the head phones only.  I've got audio tracks being routed to Master.  The click track also had been routed to Master.  The Master is routed to the VS700 Main, which is (I believe) is the monitors.

On the front of my console, I've got two places to insert headphones.  On the console, there are two volume controls for the headsets.  Just below these two dials are buttons labeled "Sub".  If I route the Master to VS700 Sub and depress the button, the audio tracks will be played through the headsets only (not through monitors).  Likewise, if I route the audio tracks to VS700 Main and "un-depress" the buttons (which puts them on "main"), the audio will be heard through the monitors with nothing through the headsets.

I am trying to figure out a way where the audio from a project would be heard through both "Main" and "Sub" so I can route the click track in "Sub".  If I can do  this, I can get all of the audio though the headsets as well as the click track.  As it is right now, if my Master is routed to "Main" and my click is routed to "Sub", I get all of the audio through the monitors without the click.  However, through my headset, I get the click ONLY without any audio.

- Set the output of your MASTER stereo bus to VS-700 MAIN
- Insert a new stereo bus just after MASTER and label it SUB
- Set the output of your SUB stereo bus to VS-700 SUB
- Set the output of your METRONOME stereo bus to SUB (instead of MASTER)
- Insert a new Post-Fader SEND on your MASTER stereo bus and route it to SUB
- Make sure your SEND PAN is set to Center
- Make sure your SEND Gain is set to Unity

Enjoy your mix, with and without the metronome, simply by switching the source of your headphone output between MAIN and SUB

I hope this help,
Sacha

Thanks again, SachaD.  I didn't know that option was available.  I found the "post fade send" under the "Bus" tab for the Master.  It works.
