Hi!

Any suggestions for a very reliable stereo looper device for live use? It needs to sync properly to external MIDI clocks and must be controllable via MIDI CCs on top of regular stompbox triggering.

I would be routing mostly synths and drum beats thru it. I tried the one from Eventide but was surprised it completely fails when hooked up to MIDI clocks and triggered via MIDI CC.

Edit: Eventide support is quick and helpful. I got it all working with Sonar sending the CC to start/stop.

Apparently the issue is that Sonar cannot separate MIDI start/stop from MIDI clock (i.e. you can either send all or none) which confuses the Eventide MIDI implementation when MIDI start/stop coincides with a patch chg message (which it does if you define the patch in the MIDI track inspector) ... the workaround is to call the Eventide batch change slighty after starting transport in Sonar and then all works OK ...

I have the Roland RC 500. I synced it successfully though my software. If I were looking now I would look at the Roland RC 505. It looks to be an updated version of mine. There are less expensive ones out there but IMO none better than the Roland loopers.

Thanks. The pigtronix looks awesome and has the features I'm looking for. Does it work as promised when slaved to MIDI
clock and started/controlled via CCs?? ?
