It's working correctly for me now.  Someone mentioned in this thread that sometimes you have to wait 24 hours after the release announcement to actually download and install.   I spent a couple of wasted hours yesterday trying to get it installed, when all I really needed to do is just wait 24 hours.  It's working properly now for me, I even used it in my latest project.   And like most presets, you usually end up tweaking them a bit to fit your specific needs.
But they're a good starting point.

So it is only available via the PC strip load. Useless for me.

You can use the presets in already-loaded-up-with-other modules PC strips. Read the eZine (page 43)!!

...The default Command Center download folder is C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads, Note: ProgramData is a hidden directory.

...but is easily accessed from CCC itself.

  1. Select settings.
  2. Select the paths tab.
  3. Under the Command Center heading, click the orange folder icon to the right-hand side of Download Path.

I havent tried this but are you saying that if i select one of these new presets into an existing track/setup, it will not alter any other devices akready set up?

No, I'm saying that if you load the EQ in a blank channel, you can transfer the EQ settings into the target ProChannel.

BTW - sorry about the confusion for how to download the presets. The method was not available for me to try prior to "freezing" the eZine, so that information was not included. Next month there will be some more goodies, and assuming the procedure doesn't change, I'll be able to describe how to get them.

FWIW, I saw them in the Command Center and just downloaded them.

The good news is a) there appears to be interest in presets, and 2) those who have them find them useful. So that's the kind of data needed to justify doing more presets in the future   Maybe it's time for some new TH3 presets, too!

I have to agree that loading the QuadCurve preset isn't exactly intuitive.  It's not loaded from QuadCurve, it's loaded from the "Pro-Channel" presets menu.

This is something I'm still thinking they will eventually give us. While it's great to be able to save presets of aPC conglomerate, Individual presets are another handy convenience. I don't use presets much myself, though I do use templates extensively. I find I far prefer to individually decide what I want/need for any given track.... Which may only be a single item at that moment, not an entire input strip...

Plus one on TH3 presets. I'm so glad you seem to enjoy making them, Craig. I rarely use any preset as-is, but when I'm creating I really appreciate not having to build sounds, tracks, fx and so on from scratch. I like being able to get on with things ASAP. If my ideas work out I can always go back and tweak the pre-made stuff. Thanks for your work! If SONAR had a Hall of Fame I'd nominate you.
