My computer is ruined. Wiped clean. You were quick to send out emails about your new
product venture. Why aren't you sending out emails to mitigate the damage? You are going
to hear lots from me. So is The Fender Forum, The Gear Page, The Telecaster page (TDPRI),
Harmony Central, Facebook. I've lost an HP laptop plus a little Passport 1T portable HD that
I only purchased one month ago. All I did was save the download to desktop, didn't open it, didn't run it.
I have put endless hours into the files on that computer. It's all gone.

You are suggesting Bandlab is malware. What is your evidence, other than a rather hard to believe statement? Anyone can claim their computer was ruined by a simple download. You need to provide some evidence.

If your computer was really ruined, it was almost certainly not by downloading Bandlab. It could have been, and almost certainly was, something else.

Last night Cakewalk fully acknowledged the virus. Now, I see all reference has been secreted.

This has nothing to do with BandLab. This is an Overloud product. The post was moved to the Software area. The post is here (and the link is still on SONAR page 1) but the virus report is likely a false positive.

Is this what this thread is all about?

Cakewalk acknowledged a virus? Really? I don't think so. Even if it did contain a virus, just downloading it without executing it would not do anything - you stated you didn't run it. No one else has had this issue.

Perhaps the worst part about your story is that you don't seem to backup your computer. If your computer has been wiped for whatever reason, the data loss is completely your fault!

The second worst part of your story is that you jump to conclusions about what caused your computer to get wiped without any evidence, not to mention the fact that it is extremely unlikely, and there are far more likely causes which you don't seem to have considered.

You are either a troll or completely incompetent!

It is likely a misunderstanding.

I would be surprised if the OP contacted Cakewalk and even more surprised if Cakewalk replied. If this is about the post quoted in msg# 6 the OP just needs a little help. It is not a BandLab, CbB or SONAR issue.

there is no way to isolate the cause of the OPs problem. The only complaint the OP has is about possible issue with an Overloud installer posted in msg #6 above.

This is not to a BandLab issue at most it is an Overloud issue. If the OP chooses not to reply soon, I am locking this thread.
