Hi, i hope somebody can give me some direction with my problem. I have been running Sonar since it was first introduced but remember having trouble between my graphics card and my midi interface, i sorted this by running my computer with standard vga graphics adapter, and have used my keyboard trouble free for years, until recently. I have problems with my system and have had to do a clean wipe and install, but via the windows updates, my graphics card drivers were installed, which was great, i thought until i went into Sonar and switched my keyboard on and then it was blue screen and restart.
Sonar Producer in fine no problem, but when i make the midi connection with my keyboard it all stops, but if i go back to the standard vga adapter and remove my graphic card drivers everything works fine. I have used a M Audio delta 192 audio midi card since i have had Sonar and it works great on standard vga, but if i use my graphics card as soon as i power up my keyboard and ther is a midi link, it goes off, i can't even operate it if disable the graphics card, i have to uninstall it, it's the same problem if i switch to my integrated graphics, only on standard vga will it all work.
I have tried all ways to work with with the graphics with no success. I can carry on working ok with standard vga no problem, but it would be great to have a better resolution with Sonar and besides it's doing my head in. Could somebody please help. Thank You.

Have you tried changing the PCI slot your M Audio delta is plugged into?

Yes, I suggest too to change the PCI slot (I think it's a "IRQ number" conflict).

You may also be able to affect the irq selection in the Bios as well.

Thanks for your ideas, as for changing my pci slot, I only have the one slot. The graphics card is in a pci express slot.

Have you tried to find different drivers for your graphics card instead of using the ones provided by your O.S.?  I would download the WHQL drivers from the manufacturer.

As a last resort, buying a different MIDI interface or graphics card "might" solve the problem.

It might be worth trying going into Windows device manager and disabling any HDMI devices/drivers listed there - if the graphics driver(s) for the card or on-chip graphics includes them, and many do, that can sometimes cause issues.

I have chased it down now to midi. If i switch my keyboard on before launching Sonar, when i do launch Sonar it goes to blue screen, But if i Launch Sonar first and then switch on my keyboard it's fine, but i have to remember to turn my keyboard off before closing Sonar down. This is the same for any midi application i run, so are there any ideas on this as it's a pain. Thanks
