The new update has ripple editing.  I'm in the middle of 2 film projects that ripple editing would just be so cool.  However I'm afraid to upgrade in the mist of of projects with deadlines like these.

Can people post if the new update is stable.

THANKS!!

Just been posted....check the stuff at the top of the forum.  Sorry I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to create a link.

I personally never update in the middle of a job. But that said, the ability to roll-back updates has always worked flawlessly, so the level of risk is low, if the feature looks useful.

Don't do it.
This is not the release, it is the "early access" or beta.
Secondly, even when it is released, do not upgrade unlessl your critical work on your current projects is done. I have a lot of faith in the Bakers, but I would hesitate diving in on production work with this release, considering it is the first release with ripple edit. We all know there will be bugs, and it'll take a couple of updates before we can relax.

And while we're on the subject... Am i the only one who really doesn't understand what Ripple Editing is and why it's a big deal?

Ripple editing is hopefully going to save me many hours when a video editor sends me a new version of a project....and if I have to add or cut out sections, all the tempo, automation, meters will move together.

No Stickman, you're not the only one! Can someone explain to me what ripple editing is as if I were a ten year old?

I also save time with this new feature.
When a digitazed tape is empty for an hour, I can delete the hole in a few seconds. The markers are also moved.
Or I can insert a vinyl with 45 minutes or a tape with 2 hours and move the other following recordings to the right.
I have missed this feature for more as ten years.
And of course I use this new (early access) feature in current projects with deadlines.
