  • Single click A/B FX-switch in FX bin? [SOLVED]

Hi,

Is is possible in some way to select between two FX vst's in the FX bin with a click like you can change A/B presets in the Waves Audio plugins?  I'm trying to compare two plugins but the on and off switches takes too long to make a decent comparison...

Clone the track and put one effect on each track, maybe?

Not in the FX bin, but you can in the ProChannel (for those who wonder, another reason why the ProChannel is not like the FX bin). Drag the two VSTs into the ProChannel. Enable the power on one and disable the power on the other. Assign both power buttons to the same Group. Click on either power button to A/B.

The other option, as alluded to above, is to copy the track with one effect in one track and one track in the other. Group the track mute buttons similarly to the way you would for the ProChannel so you can A/B between them quickly...or use Exclusive Solo if all you want to listen to are the tracks with the effects.

Depending of the plug-ins it may be possible to create an FX chain that can A/B between effects in the FX Rack. If the plug-ins have a way to turn off/on or bypass (all VST3 should have this), add the plug-ins to an FX chain, add a button to the chain and invert the values for each effect.

Thanks for this seamless solutions... One thing though : I have a serious issue with the ProChannel FX Chain.  Some plugins like Flux Bittersweet Pro, cause the channel metering to not work at all and sometimes causes it to spike and cause the audio engine to shut down.  I've stopped using the ProChannel all together because of this.

I would like this to be fixed but even the error reporting crashes...

Please Cakewalk - fix this
