Normally just hook stuff up and use it.
I have set a few CPU settings but there are many things that I don't understand under MIDI, Audio and Customize.
I'm not really good with the help doc type display as I need to focus and bounce between different relative, related areas before I get it. Is there a dedicated fine tune "Setup Sonar Platinum" Document?

I'm not clear on what you want to "fine tune"...

- Optimizing your PC to run Sonar?
- Sonar settings to fit your setup?
- Sonar workflow?

Can you be a bit more specific?

In any case, there are a ton of Sonar-tutorials on CW's site and YouTube.  Searching for "Cakewalk Sonar setup" (or whatever sub-topic you wish) will likely get you going in the right direction.

Hello,
I understand what you’re saying but if I don’t know what’s possible in I can’t explain what I’m looking for. lol
Regardless of what I don't know I think your advise is good. I was thinking I could cut through the red tape and get straight to it. :)
I'll just have to hit the net and dig it up... :)

Peace!

Do you have a problem you are trying to solve, or are you just trying to make things "better"?

If you don't have a problem you are trying to solve and are just trying to make things better, I would just get on with making music.  A lot of the tweaks found on the internet don't apply now and could backfire.

if you are trying to solve a specific problem, give us the details and we'll help you out.

Back in the older times, I remember a lot of tweaks were available.
Now a days, I just run it till something comes up and I have been lucky enough where... well nothing has come up.

With a good sound card, a good PC build- this includes good ram, good HD, EXC.
You should be good to go right out of the box. none of that core parking crap or anything.
As Dave said, Make music.

You can set your midi buffer to 500 and if you need audio set up asst.
